The Government Palace was formerly the Sonoran Institute of
Fine Arts, converted in 1884.

before it became the beautiful structure that it is today.

The Catedral de la Asuncion was constructed in its present
form, due to the efforts of local Hermosillan women, who petitioned the
Catholic diocese to replace the decaying original.

We spent the first night of our trip at the Fiesta
Americana in Hermosillo, and our last night at the Holiday Inn Hermosillo,
just to get a taste of two different hotels.
