Sumidero Canyon; page two

The candles at this shrine (somewhat difficult to see here) were lit both days we took this boat trip. Don't know whether someone goes up this tiny ladder every day to maintain flowers and keep candles lit.	Surreal view of canyon walls	The canyon's beauty is overwhelming.
The canyon streches nine miles north from Chiapa de Corzo.	At the time of our trip, the price for a boat ride was between $10 and $15 USD.	Monument to Chicoasen dam workers

I'd hate to be this croc's dentist.	Croc close-up	In addition to crocodiles and monkeys, iguanas can also be found lurking in this area.
Some of the tall trees along the canyon seem to be growing right out of the river.	Canon del Sumidero has been a national Park since 1982.	Our trip took place in early December, and the weather was ideal.
